Your Refinished Surface Is Protected — Here's Everything You Need to Know

At Duracoat Refinishing, we stand behind every job we complete in Aurora, Denver, and the Front Range. Our warranty and care guidelines work together to make sure your refinished surface looks great for years to come.

Warranty Coverage

What's Covered Under Our 5-Year Warranty

Every fully refinished surface completed by Duracoat Refinishing comes with the following protection:

Owner-occupied homes: 5-year workmanship warranty
Tenant-occupied or rental properties: 2-year workmanship warranty

Our warranty guarantees that your refinished surface will not peel or yellow as long as the care and cleaning instructions on this page are followed. Workmanship coverage means that if any issue arises from how our coating was applied — such as drips or runs in the finish — we will return to correct it at no charge to you.

A few important notes:

  • Workmanship issues are uncommon and typically appear within the first 10 days after your service is completed

  • Damage resulting from improper care, negligence, or failure to follow these guidelines — including chips, gouges, or scratches — is not covered and will require a paid repair

  • The following items are not covered under warranty regardless of service performed: soap dishes, towel bars, faucets and handles, spa jet covers, grout lines, caulking, rust or corrosion repairs, and repairs to fiberglass or cultured marble surfaces

Care & Cleaning Instructions

How to Care for Your Refinished Surface

Following these guidelines is what keeps your warranty valid and your surface looking like new for years. Please read carefully and keep this page bookmarked for future reference.

⏱ Minimum Dry Time
Allow at least 24 hours before touching, using, or allowing the surface to get wet. Do not reinstall hardware or caulk until after the dry time has passed unless specifically instructed otherwise by our team.

🧼 Approved Cleaning Products
Use only a soft sponge or washcloth with a non-abrasive, non-bleach liquid, cream, or gel cleaner. The following are safe to use on your refinished surface:

  • Dawn dish soap

  • Barkeeper's Friend spray or cream (not powder)

  • Lysol or Mr. Clean spray

  • Simple Green spray

❌ Never Use the Following:

  • Bleach or bleach-based cleaners

  • Abrasive powders or scrubbing pads

  • Anything containing oils or citrus — including essential oils or citrus-based cleaners

  • Epsom salts or oil-based products such as sugar scrubs without immediately rinsing afterward

  • Hair dye, paint-related chemicals, or harsh solvents of any kind

🚫 Suction Cups
Never use bath mats, soap holders, or any accessory with suction cups on a refinished surface. Suction cups trap moisture underneath and can pull at the finish when removed. Use weighted bath mats, tension rod shower caddies, or accessories specifically made for refinished surfaces instead.

💧 Wet Items
Do not leave wet cloths, sponges, mats, bottles, or soaps sitting on your refinished surface for extended periods. Use a soap dish for vanity tops and a shower caddy or tension rod corner shelf for tubs and showers.

🐾 No Pets
Do not bathe animals in a refinished sink or bathtub.

🔧 Leaky Faucets
Repair leaky faucets promptly. A constant drip over time will wear down the finish and is not covered under warranty.

🪣 Contractors & Workers
If contractors or workers need to access the bathroom after your refinishing service, make sure they do not place tools, ladders, or equipment on your refinished surface. Ask them to remove shoes and place a soft towel or drop cloth down before standing near the fixture.

🔍 Chips & Damage
Contact us immediately if your surface chips or is damaged. Small chips addressed early are far less expensive to repair than those left unattended.

🚿 Grout & Caulking
Inspect your shower or tub surround regularly. Any sizeable gaps in grout or caulking should be repaired promptly — water seeping behind the walls can cause serious damage that goes well beyond the refinished surface.

Important Information About Your Refinished Surface

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

We want every Duracoat Refinishing customer across Aurora and Denver to be fully informed about the refinishing process. While we take every precaution to deliver a flawless result, there are a few naturally occurring variables worth understanding:

Dust & Debris
Unlike factory manufacturing environments, homes are not dust-free. We clean and prepare the area carefully before every job, but minor dust particles may occasionally settle into the wet surface during application or the drying process. In most cases these naturally smooth out through normal use and cleaning within 30 days. We are not responsible for dust, debris, or insects that contact the surface during drying and curing.

Existing Surface Imperfections
Your existing surface may have pre-existing imperfections — silicone contamination, minor chips, scratches, or dents — that become more noticeable once a new high-gloss coating is applied. These pre-existing conditions are not defects in our workmanship and are not covered under warranty.

Color Variations
Custom tinted colors and specialty finishes may vary slightly from color samples, just as paint or tile may vary between manufacturer batches. Texture and color patterns can also vary slightly depending on spraying conditions. These variations are not considered defects and are not eligible for refund.

Masking & Surrounding Areas
We take great care to mask and protect surrounding surfaces using professional-grade painter's tape and paper. Even so, we are not responsible for touch-ups to paint or wallpaper that may be disturbed by tape removal. Any dry dust you notice on nearby surfaces after the job can be easily wiped clean with a soft cloth and standard household cleaner.

These situations are not common, but we want you to be fully informed. In every case, your newly refinished surface will deliver a beautifully updated, high-gloss finish that provides many years of use and satisfaction.
